I have enjoyed countless of hands of chemin de fer. I started working my way into the casinos when I was sixteen. I have bet on online vingt-et-un, I have counted cards, and worked as part of a team for a short while. Given all that I have still lost all kinds of cash at chemin de fer. The gambling halls have made it almost impossible to defeat the house.
I still enjoy the game and bet on a frequent basis. Over the years I have played a variation of vingt-et-un called "The Take it Leave it Method". You certainly won’t get flush with this tactic or beat the house, still you will experience a lot of fun. This method is centered on the idea that vingt-et-un seems to be a match of runs. When you’re on fire your hot, and when you are not you’re NOT!
I play basic strategy vingt-et-un. When I don’t win I bet the table minimum on the successive hand. If I lose again I bet the table minimum on the successive hand again etc. Once I win I take the winnings paid to me and I wager the initial bet again. If I win this hand I then leave the winnings paid to me and now have double my original wager on the table. If I succeed again I take the payout paid to me, and if I win the next hand I leave it for a total of 4 times my original bet. I keep betting this way "Take it Leave it etc". Once I lose I lower the wager back down to the original value.
I am very disciplined and never back out. It gets very exciting on occasion. If you win a few hands in series your bets go up very quickly. Before you know it you are wagering $100-200per hand. I have had fantastic runs a couple of times now. I departed a $5 table at the Venetian a couple of years ago with $750 after 35 minutes using this tactic! And a couple of months ago in Macau I left a game with $1200!
You need to understand that you can give away much faster this way too!. But it really makes the game more enjoyable. And you will be aghast at the runs you witness wagering this way. Here is a chart of what you would wager if you kept winning at a $5 game.

Take 5 dollar paid-out to you, leave the first 5 dollar bet
Bet five dollar
Leave 5 dollar paid to you for a total wager of $10
Bet ten dollar
Take $10 paid-out to you, leave the first 10 dollar bet
Bet ten dollar
Leave 10 dollar paid to you for a total wager of $20
Bet $20
Take 20 dollar paid to you, leave the original 20 dollar bet
Bet twenty dollar
Leave 20 dollar paid-out to you for a total bet of forty dollar
Wager 40 dollar
Take $40 paid-out to you, leave the first $40 wager
Wager forty dollar
Leave $40 paid to you for a total wager of eighty dollar
Bet eighty dollar
Take 80 dollar paid-out to you, leave the initial 80 dollar wager
Wager $80
Leave eighty dollar paid to you for a total wager of one hundred and sixty dollar
Wager 160 dollar
Take $160 paid-out to you, leave the first $160 bet
If you departed at this point you would be up $315 !!
It’s difficult to go on a streak this long, but it occasionally happen. And when it does you can NOT alter and drop your wager or the final result won’t be the same.
